BAN Toxics and the International Labour Organization (ILO), through the US Department of Labour (DO) - funded CARING Gold Mining Project, partnered with the Philippine Fashion Week in the recently launched Compassionate Gold, a forthcoming brand of jewelry.

The brand seeks to provide economic opportunities for the overlooked artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) sector, where at least half a million Filipinos are involved. With the tagline “Human Welfare in Every Gram of Gold”, it will feature gold which follows these criteria: legally-operated; mercury-free; employs decent working conditions; and child labour-free from pilot sites Camarines Norte and South Cotabato.

Look out for the Compassionate Gold fashion jewelry line as BAN Toxics, ILO, and Philippine Fashion Week extend the brand to the public in November!
